Privacy Policy & Terms of Use
Last updated: July 21, 2026
SEFTV is a Philippine travel documentary channel that films remote and lesser-known destinations across the archipelago — the Philippines beyond the usual destinations. SEFTV is not a travel agency, tour operator, airline, ferry operator, resort, or hotel. These Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy govern your use of this website and SEFTV’s related pages, channels, and accounts. If you do not agree with any part, please do not use the site. Please read carefully.
01 General
- By accessing or using seftv.net (the “Site”) and SEFTV’s related pages, channels, and accounts, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms, effective from your first use. If you do not agree to any of these Terms, please leave the Site and do not access, contribute to, or use any information posted here.
- SEFTV produces videos, photographs, and written stories about remote and lesser-known destinations across the Philippines. SEFTV is NOT a travel agency, tour operator, airline, ferry operator, resort, or hotel, and does not sell, arrange, or guarantee any travel product or service.
- All copyright, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights (registered and unregistered) in and on the Site and its content — including videos, drone footage, photographs, articles, graphics, music, the SEFTV name, logo, and brand — remain with SEFTV or its licensors unless otherwise stated. None of it may be reproduced, duplicated, re-uploaded, redistributed, stored electronically, or archived, except for personal, non-commercial use, without SEFTV’s express written consent.
- If you own material posted on the Site and would like it taken down, please email us at jpasalo@seftv.ph and we will gladly cooperate.
- We may change these Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice. It is your responsibility to review this page for revisions. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes your acknowledgment of the changes and your consent to be bound by the modified Terms.
02 Privacy Policy
This section explains our policies on the collection, use, and disclosure of information we receive from users of seftv.net.
- By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
- Information you give us. When you contact us through the contact form or by email — or subscribe to updates or leave a comment where available — we receive the details you choose to provide, which may include your name, email address, organization, and the content of your message (“Personal Information”). We use this to respond to you and, where relevant, to improve, analyze, and promote the Site.
- Log data. Like most website operators, we and our hosting provider collect information your browser sends whenever you visit (“Log Data”). This may include your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit, and the date, time, and duration of your visit. We may use third-party services including Google Analytics to understand this in aggregate. This data does not identify you personally.
- Messages. We may use your Personal Information to send newsletters or updates about SEFTV that you have opted in to, and to support our analytics and promotional efforts.
- Comments. Where comments are enabled, we collect the data shown in the comment form, plus the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent string, to help with spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it; the Gravatar privacy policy is available at automattic.com/privacy. After approval, your profile picture may be visible alongside your comment.
- Uploaded images. If you upload images to the Site, please avoid images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS), as visitors may be able to download and extract that data.
- Embedded content. SEFTV is a video-first channel, so pages often embed content from other platforms — most commonly YouTube, and sometimes Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited the other platform directly; those platforms may collect data about you, set their own cookies, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content, especially if you are logged in. Their handling of your data is governed by their own policies (Google/YouTube, Meta, TikTok).
- Sensitive information. We do not ask for, and you should not send, sensitive personal information — such as government ID numbers, financial details, or health information — through the Site.
- Security. No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information — including serving the Site over HTTPS — we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
03 Cookies & Tracking Technologies
- Cookies are small files with data — which may include an anonymous unique identifier — sent to your browser and stored on your device. The Site may use essential cookies (needed for the Site to work, such as security and load balancing), analytics cookies (e.g., Google Analytics, in aggregate), and third-party cookies set by embedded content and, if enabled, advertising partners.
- You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, some parts of the Site may not work as originally designed.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on, and manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings.
04 Your Rights & Choices
Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its implementing rules, you have the right to be informed about how your data is processed; to access, correct, or object to the processing of your data; to withdraw consent; to erasure or blocking of unlawfully processed data; to data portability; to be indemnified for damages; and to file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission.
If you are visiting from outside the Philippines, you may have similar rights under the laws of your country — such as the GDPR in the European Union. To exercise any of these rights, email us at jpasalo@seftv.ph and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.
05 Ads, Sponsorships & Partnerships
- The Site may contain advertisements (“Ads”) served by third-party networks (for example, Google AdSense), and may feature content produced in partnership with brands, agencies, tourism offices, or other entities (“Partners”).
- When you view, click, book, or purchase through an Ad, affiliate link, or Partner, we may earn a commission or fee. This income helps keep SEFTV’s content free to watch and read.
- It is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with the rules, restrictions, terms, and conditions of the Advertiser or Partner before making any reservation, booking, or purchase. It is essential that you read and understand their terms.
- SEFTV is only a publishing channel and is NOT the Advertiser and not the owner of the Ads — we serve only as the channel between you and the Advertiser or Partner. You waive, release, indemnify, hold harmless, and discharge SEFTV and its team from any and all liability, claims, demands, or legal proceedings whatsoever should you encounter any untoward incident arising from a purchase or participation in an Advertiser’s or Partner’s offer. Complaints and concerns are between you and the Advertiser or Partner only.
- Sponsored content is always disclosed. When a video or story is produced with a Partner, we say so — and our opinions stay honest regardless of who is involved.
06 Watching & Using Our Content
- Although we do our best to keep our content accurate and up to date, it is your responsibility to double-check the accuracy, feasibility, and timeliness of any information — ferry and flight schedules, fares, permits, entry requirements, weather, and safety conditions — directly with the concerned establishment, authority, or organization (e.g., government, immigration department, tourism board, airline, ferry operator, hotel, or brand) before you act. Prices, schedules, and other details may have changed since filming.
- Many places we feature are remote, frontier, or hard to reach, and travel to them can carry real risks — sea crossings, weather, difficult terrain, limited communications, and limited access to medical care. SEFTV documents these journeys with local guides and preparation that may not be visible on screen. You accept that SEFTV is not responsible for your safety, and that any decision to visit a place featured on the Site is made entirely at your own risk and on your own responsibility.
- SEFTV cannot always verify that products, tours, packages, or services mentioned or advertised on the Site are legitimate, legal, accurate, or currently available. Please practice caution when dealing with third parties, especially when sending money or arranging trips.
- SEFTV is monetized and earns through ads, sponsorships, brand partnerships, affiliate links, and platform revenue — through views, leads, and conversions, among others.
- You waive, release, indemnify, hold harmless, and discharge SEFTV and its team from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, rights of action, or legal proceedings whatsoever, whether personal to you or to a third party, should you encounter any untoward incident due to your use of the Site or participation in anything featured here.
- SEFTV reserves the right to remove any content, comment, or post at any time without notice.
07 Story Tips & Submitted Content
We love hearing about places the maps forgot. If you send us a destination suggestion, message, photo, video, or other material (a “Submission”), the following applies.
- You agree that your Submission may be published, quoted, or featured on the Site and on SEFTV’s social media accounts, and may be edited to fit our editorial standards.
- You declare that you have the full legal right and authority to grant SEFTV the right to use your Submission.
- You grant SEFTV a license to use, repost, and feature the Submission on the Site and partner accounts without payment to you or any third party. Where practical, you will be credited as the source.
- You guarantee that your Submission does not infringe or violate any right of privacy or publicity, any copyright or intellectual property right, and does not constitute slander or libel or violate any other right of any person or entity.
- You are solely responsible for what you submit. You waive, indemnify, release, and discharge SEFTV and its team from any and all liability, claims, actions, or legal proceedings arising from your Submission.
- SEFTV reserves the right to reject or remove any Submission at any time without notice.
- The following are strictly prohibited on the Site:
- visual or verbal profanity or abusive language;
- nudity or sexually explicit or suggestive content;
- graphic display of violence or child abuse;
- content you do not own or do not have the full legal right to share. Please do not submit content that is not yours.
08 Footage & Content Licensing
- SEFTV’s videos, drone footage, and photographs are original works owned by SEFTV or its licensors. They may not be re-uploaded, redistributed, or used commercially without a license, even with credit.
- To license SEFTV footage or stills — for broadcast, advertising, education, or other use — please email us at jpasalo@seftv.ph with the specific clips, timestamps, and intended use, and we’ll arrange terms.
09 Governing Law
These Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any dispute arising from or relating to the Site or these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Philippines.
